After the first race at the 2004 Southampton Boat Show; I had a phone call from the owner driver of this boat enquiring if we were busy that afternoon as a ‘small piece' of his boat had ‘fell off' and could we fix it him for the next day !! After a two hour drive from Eastbourne too Southampton we found a large piece of his boat missing and what was left was paper thin and very wet ! This first photo shows a close up of the main damage after it was cleaned up.

As you can see, after the damage was cleaned back it turned into a 7 ft by 2 ft section (2mts x.5mts) which we repaired over night (much to the amazement of the other teams) we also had to strip out the seats and carpet to repair the inside and then put it all back. We started the repair at 1845hrs and finished at 0615. |

This shot shows the port side of the hull with extensive cracking removed and before the new laminate and Gel was applied. This whole area has also been repaired from the inside to maximise the strength of the repair. You can also see a part finished repair to the deck edge above this repair. |

This shot shows the edge of the portside deck with damage removed. This started out as about 300mm of smashed laminate but when all the damage was removed it grew by over 4 times its size. |
